^^^^
I have seen the movie but I did not remember what the things were called.
I am not trolling. The "mostly" edit is because I shoot more paper then living creatures but plan on taking a Cape Buffalo in the next year or two and want the revolver for back up.

Every one with a .357 bore that I ever owned would if you shot it enough. The .429 bore rifles never saw factory ammo.Originally posted by Baron Von Crowder View Postso every gun will do it?

I do roll my own loads. The difference in the starting load and the max load published for .454 is minimal. I don't switch to .45 Colt because I want the penetration that the .454 provides. I owned a .454 in a magnum research BFR but sold it; I only have a Ruger Super Redhawk in .454 now. I plan to get a magnum research BFR in 45/70 as soon as I find one at a decent price.Originally posted by YALE View PostIn a rifle, surely. In a revolver, though? Here's a better question: if you already have the Casull, why not shoot .45 Colt out of it? Or if you reload it, why not load it down? A .45-70 revolver is a pain in the ass.

Slip of the finger; I meant exact same weight bullet.Originally posted by YALE View PostThey don't use the same bullet, and if you think you're in for less recoil, go for it.
I have shot both; there is a VERY noticeable reduction in recoil with the 45/70.

They don't use the same bullet, and if you think you're in for less recoil, go for it.Originally posted by svo855 View PostNo; the recoil impulse from the .454 is dramatically harder then the same hand gun in 45/70 while the ballistics are nearly identical when using the exact same bullet. 35,000psi chamber pressure in the 45/70 vs 63,000psi chamber pressure in the .454.

Hit the range then; I will give you the ammo. No cleaning until the test is over.Originally posted by dee View PostDoubtful since you seem to be the only person on the Internet with a issue. This is the second topic google picks up.
