Right, nothing has changed yet regarding that. But I would assume it would change later. Would there be any reason why this wouldn't be changed? I mean, we would be allowed to open carry while walking around but have to hide our guns once we get into our vehicle? Just a personal observation anyway.

What I meant to say is that the language in the bill strikes out the need to conceal in the vehicle, so unless they change the language on the bill, you will not need to conceal in the vehicle once the bill is signed into law.. Which is what I was getting at.

Let's say I get pulled over and I have the pistol visibly tucked between the seat and the console.

The word is "possession," and you're still in possession of that firearm.

It's currently legal to have it concealed in the car on your person. IIRC you can also have it anywhere in the vehicle as long as it's concealed, like inside the center console or in a gym bag.

What I am curious is how it affects openly displaying a handgun while traveling in a vehicle if it is not on your person.

In general, I'll still be carrying concealed out in public. I'm still a little paranoid about becoming a target for the bad guys if they know I'm carrying. But I'll probably carry more OWB around the house (yes I know it's already legal) and at cookouts and to a very lesser extent, quick outside trips to the gas station, car wash, etc. Friday night out, concealed.

I'm considering getting a Tucker Gun Leather HF1 with a Texas Concho for OWB carry. I need to find out if this will work with both of my 1911's (one has a rail).

I will probably pickup a outside the wasteband holster for my daily carry, but still use a long shirt to cover it. Should be more comfy than inside, will not get used as often I bet but will be nice to have the option, especially while biking/running.
