I'll agree that rights need to be protected from political whim, but characterizing them as being a mandate from an absentee deity is just silly.

Rights come from a social contract. We've agreed (at least implicitly) to a process, and agreed that this works for us, and are constantly renegotiating and redefining that social contract. That's what a political process is.

Kory Watkins is a douche of epic proportions, I went to high school with him and his brother. A group of friends and I had a disagreement with a group he was associated with.
