Del-Ton AR 15?

I have always been happy with they quality of Del-Ton's parts. The front sight becomes a pain in the butt if you do not plan on adding a rear sight.

I have purchased 5 completed uppers from Del-ton over the last few years and then grabbed lowers elsewhere. I've now built 4 of them (still have to build the Black Friday special they had a few months ago), and all are great rifles. Three of mine have 4 rail hand guards because I knew I'd upgrade them down the road. You'll be happy with their product.
The one thing I would recommend doing is going to a flip up front sight gas block. I have that on 2 of mine and wish I had it on at least one other. I don't like looking through the red dot/holographic and seeing the post in the front. My setups are as follows.
16" mid-length with holographic sight, flip up BUIS and fixed front w/ 4 rail handguard
2 x 16" M4 length with red dot, flip up front and rear, and 4 rail handguard (these are my boys' rifles)
20" rifle with no front sight (gas block with 2 rails), bipod, and Nikon P-223 2.5-10x40
16" Black Friday special (still need to stack this one, but it'll have the fixed front sight and a carry handle and be done).

always check out palmetto state armory for daily deals. They blow out AR kits for cheap lately and the quality is going to be almost identical to Del Ton.
That said build your first AR cheap and spend extra money on tons of ammo and shoot the hell out of it. I've put together cheapos and expensive ARs, and honestly they all shoot way better than I do. I had the same experience with M16s in the Navy. No matter how shitty or worn out they are, they still shoot better than I'm capable of exacting from them.
Once you know what you really want and need in an AR then you can build another or upgrade.

That's a very basic rifle, one that you will want mod pretty soon. I'd build a lower parts kit and build it to how you want, and then buy a complete upper.

That is expensive, I got mine at $502.xx after taxes out da door. Fully assembled too and with a 30rd. Mag...

Not the price I wanted to pay, but a lot of what I could find (with my limited knowledge) was sold out, or priced more. Post up something better and I'll get this cancelled and order that.

My first rifle was a complete DT and it has been good with everything but Tula. I also have one of their rifle gas dissapator upper and its one of my favorites. It also hates Tula.

Del-Ton AR 15?
Pretty close to ordering this as my first build for an ar. It's right at my budget for an upper without rear sights and no magazines. Thoughts?
