I'm 34 myself, and no longer consider having a child as a problem. If we click, and she wants atleast one more, it might work. My step-dad was a great influence in my life from early teens on, so that helps my point of view.
At 22 and in college though, the answer was quite different.

Yeah, I couldn't see you raising kids 10 years ago, but I couldn't see you raising a baby now. The ready made family situation is really your best option. LolOriginally posted by Muffrazr View PostCould you imagine how wound up I would have been 10 years ago with kids?
The amount of patience I have now is incredible at 32. It makes raising kids a cake walk.

lmao! My dad was 36 when I was born. We'll see. I don't have my hopes up. I'm going to be traveling too much to even worry about rebuilding a family in the next 2-3 years.

I don't think it is shallow at all. It's an expectation going in, like wanting someone who doesn't smoke, likes sports, or whatever. The guy is 22, why would he want a pre-fab family to have to deal with? Hell, I'm 34 and don't want to raise someone elses kid.

I need to find a urologist who has no moral objection to performing a vasectomy on a 22 year old.

Tell her you grew up with a alcoholic mother that was always at the bars and would bring strange men home that would beat and sexually abuse you. That's what attracted her to you was the uncanny resemblance to your mother!
