UPDATE: USAA is paying the claim and is mailing me a check for what the estimate showed. I've never had it done this way so I assume that if the total cost is higher, the shop will just contact USAA?

I need some body shop recommendations now so I can get this done! Anyone have a recommendation in the HEB area?

lol reminds me of a story recently told by a leo friend of ours. Apparently a co-worker of my wife was talking at work that her husband got a dwi a few weeks back while driving them home after a late dinner/night out. She was upset about it and stuff. Our leo friend who was there asked her if she offered to do anything about it then? Her reply was, "what do you mean?" he said, "you know. Did you offer to do something to help right then."

the conversation went on for a while with her saying, "what could i have done? My husband was right there!" anyway, leo friend says that it's the norm for women to offer up to get out of something (or their spouse) and that apparently most people take them up on it.

BTW-I have to say that Officer Tucker (the officer that responded and made the report) is by far, one of the nicest and most helpful officers I've ever had an interaction with. In fact, we are texting right now because he wanted to know how it ended up with his insurance. He did everything he could to make it as pleasant as it could possibly be and even offered to speak to the insurance company himself if they had any doubts.

Not yet. They have to give him time to respond, but if he's as cooperative with them as he's been with HIS OWN insurance (which, btw, they are dropping him from their policy for non-cooperation-bwahahahaha!), it will likely end up happening. I'm not letting it get forgotten.
