powder coating is too much , high temp engine enamel holds up great! AND you can touch it back up if needed, did the wheels on wifeys FX 3 almost 4 years ago and still look great....

Yeah, that's what I would do. Sanding and rattle canning works great and can be refreshed easily when necessary.

piss on that! a few hundred bucks for quality powdercoat that won't need to be touched up is money well spent IMO

4 years and still looking good is enough for me. A rattle can is much cheaper.

Doesnt need to be touched up But if it ever does(curbrash/gouge from crap in the road), its a $7 can.

Do we have a powdercoating hookup anymore? I told the fiancée what I was thinking and she said, "I want black wheels too." (lexus IS). So I might have 8 wheels to get coated soon

$100 on Craigslist for wheels and centercaps then some self etching primer, 400 grit and semi gloss engine enamel.

Looks good. I have had great results with rattle can painted wheels over the years. The high temp engine enamel has been particularly durable.
