I don't know. I'ma google this question and I'll get back to you with whatever answer others have come up with previously.

I think we should keep looking to the past for new ideas..and to improve upon those ideas. Technology continues to make leaps n bounds. Maybe there's not much left to be creative about? I'm being very creative just surviving this economy....does that count?

The quick answer is No, of course not.
The reason you're asking is because you are only looking at mass media, which is formulaic by design. There is not a lot of reward for the risk of seeking out new talent and new paradigms. People are sheeple and want to be fed the same grain over and over. For example, 92.5 KZPS.
But there's really no shame in revisiting the good trends. We've been force fed electronic music for 35 years now. Somehow a shitty garage band sounds refreshing and fun, doesn't it?

Tits or GTFO!!
I sometimes wonder the same thing, but as far as creativity in technology goes, I think corporations and the government keep alot of it hidden from us. And what we deem as stupid or making no sense is in a way creativity.

Creative and stupid walk the same line sometimes.

has mankind lost its originality?
I was discussing this with someone else recently, it seems new ideas and creativity has greatly declined, it seems like every movie plot is the rehash of an old one or a sequel/prequel, styling is retro, most new songs are the same beat and most books just the same plot with new words.
Has man's creativity ran out, with not many new ideas?
