LoL at you guys. I started this thread just to see the plethora of responses...and you guys did not fail. Most of you have solid arguments, but they are based on your life experiences and upbringing...and/or need to play Devil's Advocate.

We home school the older one. He did go to public school for Kindersgarten and 1st grade however. We will probably do the same for this one.

We arent the type to let anyone else raise our children.

Bravo for taking the responsibility of educating your children into your own hands.

And screw you for pulling our strings.

LoL...this site is a psychology student's wet dream. Thesis material, I tell ya. Soo much pathology in one place. Instead of the DSM IV, it should be the DFWM IV.

For all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than to Google it for themselves.

yes and no IMO.. i dont know if you believe or not or if you are even for religion (im not) but if a teacher cares about a student at that age i doubt they would be pushing religion as a child doesnt even understand that kinda shit yet.. If you are super religious i guess i understand your side but at that age that kid isnt gonna crash a plane into the whitehouse or anything. If that teacher is really pushing religion on your child and other kiddos gtfo.. thats what churches are for..

<--- doesnt attend church or have a certain god that i worship..

Just being an all around good person makes more sense to me

I don't think a hardliner in any religion is a good teacher. If this muslim was brought up as a strict muslim, then I'm sure some sort of violence was used in the upbringing. People have a very hard time turning that off and will react with the same type of strictness when dealing with kids, especially those not their own.

I see it in the poor community all the time. Parents yell and snip at their kids, and the kids grow up thinking it's normal and treat their own children the same. It's a stupid cycle.

This teacher, as a human, is no different. She will try to instill the same values that she has been taught.

Since most preschool and early school kids stay in the same classroom, I suggest buying a digital voice recorder. Most of them can record on lower quality for 8-12 hours. Turn it on and hide it in an outer pocket in their backpack and let it capture what goes on for the day.

It will be a PITA sitting through 8 hours worth of recording, but it could be priceless in capturing information to either set your mind at ease, or getting your child out of that environment.
