It most likely stems from the frustration I feel on a daily basis regarding the subject. At least once a week someone grabs me and tells me that I need to accept Jesus and that he is the only way to salvation etc.

It is not against school policy to practice a different religion (or none at all). Most people here aren't really Bible thumpers, but we certainly do have some. I met a kid one time who told me that in the Bible when it mentions wine they really mean grape juice, and that Jesus never drank alcohol. I asked how they would have preserved it in its juice form without it turning, and he said "they had ways."

Why do Christians own December?

Who the hell said that we did? While we disagree with other religions beliefs, etc., we acknowledge their presence. Further, it is some historian's findings that December 25 was established to celebrate Jesus' birth while others believe that December 25 was chosen because it was the date of the solstice. As Christians, we should be allowed to believe that December 25 is because of our religion. By believing that, we aren't condemning anyone else's desire to celebrate it otherwise.

All religion does is focus on something that no one knows anything about.

First, it's called "faith" and EVERYONE has it. For example, you have faith that when you turn the key in your car that it will start. Second, there are books like the Bible, Koran, etc. that lay out the teachings/beliefs of the religion. To say that no one knows anything about their particular religion is absurd.

It's mans way of trying to explain to others his rational on what happens when we die.

Ridiculous. Most religions also focus strongly on how you are to live while here on earth.

In turn this creates a sort of tunnel vision on the thought process.

Because believe it or not there are people who are surrounded by family and friends who don't believe and feel guilty and that they will be rejected by their close knit society. It's these people that the ads are trying to reach by telling them they are not alone and the should not feel the need to be persecuted for being a human being.

As an atheist myself, I dont understand people like this that go out of their way to try to piss off bible thumpers. If I didnt know any better I would think these people are really religious groups trying to smear atheist.

I dont know another atheist that is so bothered by christmas and other holidays that they would put their own money to put ad's on bus's to piss people off.

The bible thumpers give out church/religious material to children for Halloween, and athiest put ads on city buses. For any belief or non belief you will have the extremist, which ruin everything they are saying they stand for. I don't like people who push anyone to do do anything. Just let people do whatever they want, no need to impose on what other people do.

If God does exist, I am fairly certain that he did not manifest himself as a carpenter who lived 2,000 years ago. Also I doubt that God, as a supreme being, would be so petty as to damn us to an eternity of torture for not worshiping him.


It has been said that religion is the opiate of the masses, and that certainly is the truth. Religion is a hell of a drug, back in 2001 19 dudes overdosed and crashed 2 planes into a set of towers. Shit is not cool.
