I think this is completely stupid, and my bet is that they give out more tickets for TWD than they have accidents in the next few months.



It sucks to get a ticket, but you can get your text records from your service provider, and prove that you weren't texting at the time.

I see everyone doing it. I understand everyone is upset because the government is stripping people from their right to do things but people shouldn't be texting and driving.

You guys act like you can't survive without texting. Everyone acts as if the world is ending and everyday their rights are being taken away. The fact is, the world is evolving, we didn't have texting 20 years ago for it to be a problem. New rules comes new laws.

I am willing to bet that everyone in here one time or another has sped passed someone and said get off your phone or pay attention to the road. That right there shows you are for this law, you just don't like it because you don't like being told what to do.

I am sure they can implement this into every state, city and town, and you know what, it isn't going to affect me. So I can care less..

On my iPhone, I had a Voice to Text App that seemed to work good. I used it a few times, but you still need to look at it to make sure it has not thrown in another word other than what you spoke.

This. In addition to a money grab, I forsee it being abused as a surefire way for PC to stop a vehicle and attempt a search. Very rarely do I text while driving, but every time I'm in the car I am using my iPhone to play music through the dock connector cable.

Also, because I refuse to shell out for a genuine automated turn-by-turn GPS app, I have to manually click through the route changes, which could easily be mistaken by an officer as texting.

Hell, as anyone who has ever driven a newer ford with the SYNC system can attest, navigating that bastard while driving is far more distracting than typing a text message.

I am all for it. I ride a motorcycle and I couldn't tell you how many times people cut me off or swerve in my lane then see they are texting and not watching the road. Saying that is you have the right to text and drive is like saying you can speed if you want. It is a law setup for safety of other drivers on the road get over it. If you have something so important to a person CALL them.

I drove behind and beside a guy on a crotch rocket for atleast 10 miles at 11 pm at night on a dark ass highway watching him text so everyone does it at one time or another.
