6.0's were rock bottom for the Powerstroke name....the bright side is that they could only get better from there. I've known several guys that owned them....most ended up hating them. They make decent power, but get a D- on the reliability side. It sucks too b/c the trucks themselves were still pretty damned nice through those years. The resale on a 6.0 sucks....and because of that I've always thought it would be good to buy one from that era and do a Cummins transplant into it.Originally posted by txsr20de View PostDamn, I wasn't aware that the 6.4s were that far superior to the 6.0. Are the fuel systems reliable on these things?
It looks like there are deals to be had, I may have to add to the list of prospective vehicles.
I've always been a fan of the trucks, but my buddy repeatedly had issues with the fuel system on his 6.0. It was stolen a few months ago, so he doesn't have to deal with it anymore, but it turned me off of the PS for a while. I drove a 4th gen, and it was pretty stout for stock and the trans felt solid.

Nice truck, man. Too bad it's not goldOriginally posted by Cooter View PostI've been digging the 6.4's for a while. They were just way out of my price range. Well, my money went up when I couldn't find SHIT below $15k, and their values came down (perhaps with the advent of the 6.7?)
I hate to say it because I was nut swinging the 6.7 when they were teasing them, but I think the 6.4 is al lot better for somebody wanting to make some power and still work the truck.
BTW, either of those chicks in the background worth taking a second, closer look at? :P

6.4 are LIGHTYEARS ahead of the 6.0 Stay away from anything with a 6.0 in it. 7.3's last forever, but they don't make any power, 6.4's make damn good power on exhaust/tune/intake. I'm not too familiar with the 6.7's, they're so far out of my price range it's unreal.

Very nice Forrest! It's nice luxury cars/trucks like this that make you realize you're getting old when you really can appreciate a badass interior like that when you're used to being ok without having all that fancy stuff for so many years. lol. Enjoy it sir!

Congrats! I love those trucks....real likely what will fufill my eventual next diesel appetite. The interior is hands-down head and shoulders above the rest out there....

thanks man, I can't believe how nice it is inside... I had grown to hate the 3rd gen dodges based on the interior. Hell, give me a 2nd gen dodge ANY DAY!
But when I drove this thing?!??! man, it was 1,000 nails in the coffin on the 3rd gen! LOL
