          • Has anyone ever made an infused whiskey?

I picked up a bottle of 1835 last week, and, as Slider can attest to, it comes off a bit harsh and young. I think I might make a "fall whiskey" out of it and do an apple/cinnamon/vanilla infusion

Thoughts? You have about an hour to talk me out of it

                Well, I'm sold.

1 bottle of 1835 whiskey (distilled in Lewisville, TX)
2 nalgene bottles... because I can't find even a single mason jar in this house even though I know we own about 4 dozen.
                2 granny smith apples
                3 cinnamon sticks
                1 vanilla bean
                1/2 of a nutmeg... nut(?)

                Slice, dice, stuff, and pour

Then class up the liquor cabinet. Going to let it sit for a week or so then test it.

                        • Man, I wish someone could mail me a bottle of that TX whiskey. I'm stuck with what the shoppette has, which is your standard JD/Crown/Walker selection.

Just don't get caught. I had some liquor shipped here from Austria once. What they don't know won't hurt em.

                              • What are the penalties for getting caught? What about getting it into a military base?

If it's just losing the hooch, then I'll see about getting some to him.
