Has anyone here gifted a car recently that wasn't to a spouse or child? I see there is a $10 fee if it's your immediate family but I couldn't find any other information regarding gifting a car to another person not in your immediate family. Can this even be done anymore?

nope. you can't do that anymore. you will have to pay taxes on the standard presumptive value of the car when you go to register/tag it. no more days of selling your family member a car for $10 or "gifting it". my grandmother wants to gift me her escort, but if i want to tag it in texas, i have do as stated above.Comment

True about the gifting.
