were you due something at 20 years? Maybe they cut you before you qualified for bonus or became vested or something?

A little late in the game for that li'l jewel don't you think? Why not minor in quantum mechanics while you're there. Not to say it's not possible should he/she/they had the drive and the mental faculty to go through with it.

Sorry to hear that man. My advice would be to go get a degree in something useful like Finance, Accounting or Engineering. After you do so and land that job you will have wished you had done that right out of highschool.

    Best of luck.

Left two problem child cars for someone else to fix.
If that doesn't give it away! lol
I would try to get out of the auto industry completely, Lyle!
Maybe look into insurance adjusting?? I'm thinking about it. Auto glass for the last 25+ years has worn me the f**k out!!

It is becoming more common in shops to replace long term (higher paid) techs with parts hangers. It makes the bottom line look better and new people are easier to keep in line. I dont miss that buisness at all. I do miss my rack but thats about it.

That was rather abrupt after 19 years of tenure. You may have inadvertently stepped on someone's toes that was doing some complaining putting you under the microscope. Sucks either way. Good luck.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if this turned out to be Westway Ford.

Were you troubleshooting a squeaky F150 seat when it all went south?

Kidding...Sorry to hear. It sucks to say but there is no loyalty left in the workplace. I realize it's a business, but when employees put their life on hold to work a weekend or extra shift at the las minute - the employers should reciprocate at some point.

I work in a different industry, but also service related. We live and die by our "NPS" (Net Promoter Score) numbers and it's the same type of bullshit. We usually get raked over the coals thanks to some bullshit promise the salesguy made or some other vendor screwing the pooch. It sucks, but the bean counters have to have a way to rate the service organization and it's tough to rate something they don't understand.

look into medical device repair companies, they hire techs and mechanics. A buddy of mine worked for Ford for years and got fed up with the BS. Got hired on at a medical device repair company in Roanoke making $20 an hour and all the OT he can take. Loves his job, repairs sugery scopes, endoscopes and more, works M-F 8-5. good luck!

Dealership life can be tough. I have a buddy that works at Christian Brothers and has really enjoyed the job for the last 3-4 years.

His shelf life is expired. I am seriously worried that he will die at work. The down side is that this will probably push him over the edge.
