I will say this... although stans has some cool complements about me jerking them off haha...(and our burgers are completely more than competitive)
I've heard nothing but good about kenny's too
I tried twisted root and I know they make everything from scratch including the ketchup, must, and other condiments..
Overrated for the price..
I really miss "hole in the wall"
I hear purple cow has awesome burgers too!
Grady's american grill used to have some incredible burgers before they went out of biz! (tripple cheeze bacon burger was out of sight)

If you ever get out this way, stop in at The Lonesome Spur / Mule Barn (next door/same owner) and order you a Rooster Bullet Burger....Originally posted by bcoop View PostDon't get me wrong. Twisted Root is decent. But burgers, sides, ad soda/tea will set you back 13-15 per person. I wouldn't even consider them from a best burger list though.
My burgers are pretty goddamn tasty, and I'm a food snob as it is, so I'm difficult to please. I like a thick patty, I want flavor, but nothing that overpowers the beef (aka snuffer's, too salty), and I LOVE an egg on my burger, and not your typical bun. Half the fucking places on that list are using frozen, pre made patties. If you use a pre made patty, fuck you, you belong on a "worst burger" list.
Oh, and if I order a burger, and they don't ask me how I want it cooked, I'll change my order. I don't want a well done hockey puck void of moisture and flavor. I want some pink and juicy with my burgers.

And your opinion is? I was just stating a fact that the best burger I have had is from our own cattle, so fuck off with all 200 of your postsOriginally posted by Raskal View Postjust cause your brother likes to chow on your beef doesn't mean it's FTW or anything else... Your opinion is shit.

Deal. I don't suck on the first date though, so don't be expecting anything.Originally posted by Tyrone Biggums View PostToo many locals have been going there since the beginning for it to die. I think it's the classic formula for a neighborhood bar and grill. It's crammed full of local sports history, it's very convenient to get to for a lot of well established neighborhoods that have, for the most part, stood the test of time against turning to shit, it's family friendly, I've never had anything on the menu that I didn't like, it's priced for the blue-collar worker to be able to afford to take his family out to a fun dinner on Friday or Saturday night, more tv's than you can count. I think the most impressive feat they've accomplished in standing the test of time and competition is that they, unlike several restaurants in the area, have survived the blow the Highlands has dealt the area. Even some of the eateries in the Highland's have gone under. I think that says a lot.
If you haven't been in a long time, you need to go. Give me some notice and I'll meet you there.

Recommend y'all try this place.
It's not a knock your socks off kind of place, but they serve a good damned burger for the money and they stick with the basics. Just don't get the slaw, I hate their slaw. Burger of the day, o-rings with a drink. usually under 9 dollars.

I haven't tried most of the places on that list, so Mooyah is my favorite. As for the ones I have tried:
Five Guys - meh, too spotty. Sometimes really good but most of the time it is too greasy to enjoy.
In-and-out - surprisingly good, especially for the price. However I rarely eat there since it is out in Frisco. I love their fries.
Whataburger - it's whataburger, it's the standby when nothing else is around.
Smashburger - a plate of fuckin' awesome, but too far to enjoy regularly.
Twisted Root - I've only eaten there once, it's not bad, but not number 1 by any stretch.
I need to make a point of trying some of those other places.
