Trust me, it was the cleanest thing in that roach motel room. I told David if we would have had a black light, he probably would have slept on the floor, but what can you expect for $49/night. It's probably the reason he tried to spoon with me.Originally posted by kbscobravert View PostAwesome pics. PM me where to send my $19.95 + S&H. Don't forget I have your cot. Funny though it looks unused.
Well, Chris does have the engine compartment of a truck in that car. That's the great thing about old iron. ROOM!Originally posted by kbscobravert View PostYep, it makes all my overengineered efforts look foolish when his car just works so well without all the BS I have to use. I said it ten times if I said it once today, I should have went with an LS motor like his. But I would have over built it too.
Thanks Matt. I think the compliments from the Kenne Bell LS '69 Camaro were the icing on the cake.
Nathan was exposed to more testosterone in two days than some men see their whole lifetime. Did you see the family walking on the levy at the park after we left Kicker? There was a boy that was about 8 that stopped in his tracks and was watching the line of cars with his jaw on the ground.Originally posted by Chas_svo View Post
Matt's version of "hanging out"!
You're welcome Keith.
It was good times, and Nathan, my 6 YO had a blast. He can't stop talking about it, but little brother is jealous. He got stuck with mom watching chick flicks and felt robbed. That's my boy!

Great shots Matt, I want a cd of it, too. Saw some cars on there that I missed elsewhere.
Got some cool short videos of a bunch hot rods in front of our hotel. After dinner, probably 7:30 or so, Juli and I grabbed a couple beers and lawn chairs and set up on the grass near Hall of Fame. People lined up on both sides of the street watching cars go by when this kid poured out a bucket of water and another guy wrote "Burn Out Box" on the bottom of a pizza box. It didn't take very long for everyone to get the idea. So right in the middle of traffic, guys started doing burn-outs. It only followed that a bunch of kids made score cards and would hold them up at the end of each burn out. Scores varied from "Weak" to "10". This went on till nearly dark when the police pulled up in two cars, turned on their lights, and just stood around. No one was arrested, given a ticket, or anything. Didn't take very long for the crowd to disperse. I gotta hand it to the SPD, that's "crowd control" at it's finest!
Can't wait for next year, doing to long haul.sigpic

I'm sure that's one of the requests that Hot Rod makes of the City Fathers when they consider coming to a town. Don't need a bunch of Bedford type cops arresting people for not signaling a right turn. They'd have to put these cops in straight jackets for the day.sigpic

Wish I could have made the trip, but life happens. Good to see your burnt faces at the end though.
Rumor is next year it will be headed to Charlotte via little rock and Nashville. If that is the case, I'm in for at least little rock. We might even roll our new lemons racer..."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford

Sounds like we should have followed you from the pizza joint. The only thing waiting for us back at the Motel 6 was drama.Originally posted by Butch View PostGreat shots Matt, I want a cd of it, too. Saw some cars on there that I missed elsewhere.

We're going to do a little more research for next year. We want to take the dogs and therefore try to find dog friendly motels. And maybe even camp out once or twice in the panel. It would be completely doable. I have a good car friend in N.C. I was in the service with back in the day. Be good to see him again after 45 years

You should have! I haven't laughed so much in a long time. Gawd that was fun. Then we loaded up and went for a cruise around Stillwater looking for an ice cream fix.Originally posted by kbscobravert View PostSounds like we should have followed you from the pizza joint.
