Yeah I get that, but what is the way to go if you don't know how to trade? I have the white trash financial skills of a kid who grew up in a trailer in some random hick town...for some weird reason.Originally posted by Denny View PostSHIT! I've failed again!!!
Anything is the way to go if you know how to properly trade it.

Who will draft your IPS and allocate assets in a thoughtless manner that matches his firm's formula - which performs okay for the 70% of the times when we're in a quadrant I gdp/inflation scenario. You are correct though, it's better than 99% of the shit you'll read on the internet.Originally posted by QIK46 View PostTalk to a real financial advisorOriginally posted by davbrucasI want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Don't forget the fees. Or the constant calls to buy and sell some nameless, faceless company that is the hot new thing or the new turd. If you want to make money in the stock market you don't "trade" you "invest". You have to understand what makes a share have value and what makes it a piece of shit, just like you would try to understand an investment in anything else of value. People will do more analysis to figure out if a lemonade stand is a viable business than they will for a share of stock. I find it very odd.Originally posted by slow99 View PostWho will draft your IPS and allocate assets in a thoughtless manner that matches his firm's formula - which performs okay for the 70% of the times when we're in a quadrant I gdp/inflation scenario. I'm not exactly sure what you mean - in what context? Did you mean undersubscribed offering?Originally posted by 347Mike View PostCan someone explain in lamen terms what an underwritten offering is? They sold new equity shares. An I bank (my company actually assuming this is unilife) manages the process - they underwrite it.Originally posted by 347Mike View Post"today announced the pricing of its underwritten offering of 6,154,000 shares of common stock at a price of $3.25 per share. I still don't understand what this means. What impact does that have on the company/stock? The stock was down 10% today. Is this a good or bad thing?Originally posted by slow99 View PostThey sold new equity shares. Stock = equity. A company's equity has a dollar value, also known as its market capitalization. Each share of equity owns a portion of this value. If a company's equity worth is $100 million and there are 10 million shares ourstanding, each share is $10. Now the company sells 10 million new shares. Now the equity is worth $100 million but there are now 20 million shares outstanding. Each share of this company's stock is now worth $5 instead of $10. This is called dilution.Originally posted by 347Mike View PostI still don't understand what this means. What impact does that have on the company/stock? The stock was down 10% today.
