    All I know is the shit is getting expensive & I dont see how people can afford to make Car payments & pay a mortgage & all the other bills in this world. I just wonder how long before it gets to $5.00 a gallon & see the consequences of the cost of fuel

    as big of a democrat as i am, in 1999, clinton signed a bill that allowed the trading of oil and gas futures. somebody got very wealthy in those first 2 years when pump gas doubled in price. the cost to refine gasoline has little to do with it these days, only a handfull of folks control the finished product and they sell to the highest bidder.

    Not so much anymore. One reason for the jump is the change in seasonal formula's. The additives the government now requires adds quite a bit to cost of refining gasoline and especially the added refinement for diesel.
    I figured it had to do with the change from 10% to 15%, but didn't know.
