It's entirely pointless and ignorant. What is this to protect students from? Violence? Harm? How the fuck are you going to stop someone who is violent or wants to do harm? What's the plan if he gets IN the school?

Simple. There is none. There is no plan or preparation if someone wants to do harm to students when they are in the building. You're on your own.
