Not an excuse. Driving fast and losing control is your own fault.
He is the most honest person I know...I've never heard 1 damn lie from him...he'll say it's his fault.

Sooo....posting that he was doing a buck and a half on the internet = none of his insurance is going to pay for anything. They all read these forums.

I'm sure they'll be able to get a speed estimate at the scene, without having to search online.

At this point all I can do is hope he recovers and learns a valuable lesson from this.
