Hopefully your cousin/friend are around to learn from this.

No alcohol or death involved, fortunately. Yes, high speed on the street is a very bad decision, but I'm just asking for support here...lessons to be learned from this accident are inevitable.
    Support for what? Dumbassery?

you should never try to outrun a pterodactyl.

In true DFWM tradition, I must call BS. I don't believe the '11s can do 150 mph.

In all seriousness though, we can all point out the problems and we all know them. None of them matter at this point to the families of those young adults. I do wish them the best.

Best wishes for a full recovery for those involved.

That being said, unless their was a mechanical flaw that caused them to rocket down the road at 150 mph, he did it on purpose. Whether or not he anticipated that conclusion is irrelevant. If you drive at the posted speed limit and are involved in a crash, that is an unfortunate accident. Being willfully irresponsible with your life and others is neither unfortunate, or an accident.....by definition.

    Of course.

Speed has nothing to do with it, the deceleration is the problem.

when hitting something that doesn't give, deceleration is a function of velocity.

But now, thanks to you, way more than a few people know about it and I'm far from local.
