You will be happy to know I left a tip at lunch, even though the waitress that usually waits on us was off, it was some guy that couldn't speak English clearly but he came by frequently and was nice, so he got $7 on a $18.xx meal.

Stevo, did Golden Corral pay minimum or server minimum? Working a buffet is also completely different than a full service restaurant.

I don't even remember, it was 25+ years ago. I wasn't a full time waiter, I was a steak cook, but filled in for just about everything when I could as I needed all the cash I could get.

Most people that ate there while I was there ordered steaks, there wasn't much on the buffet back then, mainly just a salad bar with a few other things like chicken nuggets and mac & cheese. They hadn't even started using a potato bar yet, baked potatoes were kept in the back and given out with the steaks.
