There IS no argument against gay marriage, just as there is no argument against 2 consenting adults doing whatever the fuck they want to do as long as it isn't harmful to someone else. "Quick, someone is doing something I don't like! Make a law disallowing it immediately!" I don't see why people can't mind their own goddamned business and stop worrying about how other people live their lives. Especially when I typically note the disrepair the offended parties life is usually in.

The gays and lesbians have bars because it has the tendency to make others uncomfortable, and if a homosexual person accidentally hits on a heterosexual person there could be dire consequences for it. By specifying their own atmosphere, they rule that out and can be comfortable among like-minded individuals. As far as flags, I see confederate flags around every day, what's the difference between the two cases? Propaganda? Really? WTF propaganda have you seen around promoting gay rights?

I was talking about this with a friend telling him I thought they wouldn't have any reason to uphold DOMA or Pro 8 and he mentioned something interesting: Sexual preference is not a protected "class" like age, race, and gender. Given that, what legal justification does SCOTUS have to overturn DOMA? Can they make it a protected class with their ruling, or would it have to be done by new law?

(Now maybe it should be a protected class, I'm just talking about current law though.)

Edit: I'm also curious how this might affect marriage to multiple people? Is there any reason we could allow Gay marriage but not polygamy?

Why are you lumping those two together? Polygamy is already illegal, you can't marry more than one person. Why would it be any different?
