A class B misdemeanor turned into all of that.



No one said a word; not even the arresting officer. We got most of what he filed no billed but he kept refilling them and we could not always present our case to the grand jury before they rubber stamped the indictment. I don't remember exactly but there were 30 + cause numbers when I filed for the expungement hearing with a filing fee of $256 for each one.

I can only speak from hat I've seen and what's been told to me by my friends that are attorneys. I know I worked a capital murder case where the attorney went to trial and it was around $20k + an older Harley Davidson motorcycle. That's hardly 200k...

See, I can believe the cost. Not saying I do or don't, but I can believe it if anyone validated what he was saying.

We paid around 9K for by BIL on his 3rd or more DUI charge. I think all that got us was 7-8 reduction from the original offer from them.

Most other lawyers would've totaled around 15-20K - for just a DUI case that is pretty cut and dry. (for good lawyers) I can easily see some of these higher end felony charges really racking up in cost.

I remember other posts' of his, and I tend to believe all of this. He had some wacky-ass lady neighbor that was arrested and was some kind of freak.

. 7 months later is when the DA started re-reading the police report and finding new charges when I refused to plea out and demanded a jury trial instead of taking the "Deal". What he was doing is know as over charging and it is perfectly legal for a DA to do. It gives them extra leverage to force a plea.

The 76k was for my friend was not a bond; it was attorney fees. I make really good money and don't spend half of what I make.
