Do you really think the V8 sales make up the majority of those numbers?

GM built up high demand for the new camaro. The new camaro has pretty high quality in it compared to the previous F-body, and gave both hardcore fans and newcomers something to like.

Coming out of the gate with a 300HP V6 woke a loooot of people up, im sure.

K think there are a lot of factors for the Camaro selling better... for instance it is a genuinely good car. Then there is all that pent up demand that spilled over from 2009. Of course there is Fords mistake of offering the 2010 Mustang with lots of mid cycle improvements but with obviously outdated drivetrains.

It certainly didn't hurt the Camaro that it was featured in one of biggest movies of 2009 nor does it hurt that it is a pretty damn good looking car.

    But it's still slow..
That demand showed, and should propel the brand to improve in the future. GM better keep up the quality and appeal that this brand deserves, and innovate to keep up with it's ever improving competition.

I sincerely hope that GM keeps the ball rolling on this.

Good point there. Most parts that are made for the big 3 are made over seas.

The 2011 vert cars are being introduced as we speak, the 2012 Z28 will be introduced this year. GM has played it's cards very well spreading the demand out for the Camaro. The new V6 motors is supposed to be 325 HP and talks are on the table of it being turbo charged.

Theres also talk of the cam in cam design for 2012

Yep, 2010 Camaro was new hotness. The 2010 Mustang was old and busted (4.6). I'd love to see the 2011 numbers when they come out.

By the way, I saw where Challenger sales were hovering around 3500-4000 per month. It just sickens me that they stuck such a ridiculous price tag on them.

    Valid point.

The new supposed z/28 may help boost some Camaro sales too.
