Four or five years ago I completed deferred adjudication simultaneously in Arlington and FTW. That was an expensive year.

If she's getting pulled over more than once per year and having to worry about 90 days of deferred adjudication, I would think that you would have an attorney's number right next to the insurance card.

It's her first speeding ticket in years. It's just nice to have the option to do it again soon if needed. You never know.

for that speed, a traffic attorney isn't going to do anything that your wife can't do. You'll still be out of pocket the same $$$....unless I'm missing something.

Was this just as she got on 161 from 20? Like before Mayfield? I've saw 3 motorcycle cops camping out there last week.

I bet if you had done it yourself you would have gotten a longer probationary period and I'm pretty certain you wouldn't have been able to use deferred adjudication again in the same year same city (if you had needed to). Those perks plus the fact that you wouldn't have to hassle with it, and all for the same cost? How is that not the better way to go?

From my experience, they usually charge $50-ish and get your fine reduced by about the same amount, so it breaks even. It's been years since I've had to do it, though.

161 is a long, straight shot with brand new pavement and wide lanes. 82 feels slow on that road this time of day.

True but unless you want to bet there's no cops you gotta pay. Lawyer up the city just wants the money.lawyers can waste a lot of court time if they wish.

I think Jim Lollar also handles Grand Prairie. Call and ask first and if they do, it's usually just $40.

I just called Randall Scott and hopefully I get a better deal than if I would of gone in person. The assistant there said the probation period would be the same either way, but the fine could be less. Guess I'll find out when it's all said and done.
