IMO you couldn't be farther from the truth. Nobody needs to "put him in his place" or make him "swallow his teeth". And you should realize that he likely sees you needing similar reigning in. He is just doing that in his way. There are ways to diffuse situations, or, if necessary, avoid conflict. It's okay if you don't like him or what he does or says, the simplest solution is to just ignore him. And the same can be said to him about you.

Conflicts do not need to be decided. Neither by force or otherwise. Pride and ego are the issues here, on both sides. I just keep waiting for one of you to realize that, but all that seems to be occurring is that you both keep rising to one another's challenges.

From my perspective, you are to the point where you seem to believe that physical confrontation is your only option, and he seems to feel that berating and irritating is his. You are both falling back to your own personally-perceived strengths.

Of course, those are only my opinions. I think you are both irrational in this conflict, and what I still hope to see is both of you to realize that the nonsense isn't worth it and move on. I like you both, and in both cases, more so off the board than on.

It just sucks to see you both continue to present yourselves in ways that are contrary to how I perceive you.
