It's not an apples to apples comparison, but $40k for a Mustang?Originally posted by Slowhand View PostYou're not paying for the BMW name, you're paying for the attitude that comes with it!
You get what you pay for I suppose, and the new 5.0 is badass, but the price/weight turns me off.

With all modern cars weighing what they do, I don't see why that scares you. I mean, the 5.0's were 3200lbs and only had 225hp/300tq, the new mustang weighs what...3600lbs? So 400lbs more but you nearly double HP and gain another 100lbs/ft of torque. Price can be scary though. You can get a pretty well equipped one for under $35,000. If you go closer to the base model which is smart if you're gonna mod it your way anyways, you're looking around $30,000.Originally posted by Big A View PostIt's not an apples to apples comparison, but $40k for a Mustang?

Now $40,000 for a 2010 mustang is fucking insanely ridiculous. Saw a couple of them."Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson

You do realize an M3 weighs more than a 2011 GT, right? And I'm not about to pay $40k for a Mustang, but you don't have to do that and given the increased price in all vehicles due to enhanced quality and more government mandates, I'm just not sure that that price is a real issue.Originally posted by Big A View PostIt's not an apples to apples comparison, but $40k for a Mustang?

The current /M3 is 3800lbs. Damn. Still not paying $40k for a new mustang.Originally posted by Slowhand View PostYou do realize an M3 weighs more than a 2011 GT, right? My point is I like the boss over the gtOriginally posted by poopnut2 View PostGT500>Boss, what's your point?
To the OP, welcome to September 2010. While saying that Ford has needed this for 30 years might be a stretch, I would say that definitely since 1993, they have needed to step it up with the powertrain. It's pretty sad that it's been 18 years since GM started putting a six speed manual in camaros and firebirds, and Ford just now started putting them in non-cobra mustangs.

With cost difference and market adjustment, you could probably get a GT500 for close to what the new Boss is gonna cost. I'll agree though, they are pretty cool.Originally posted by SMKR View PostMy point is I like the boss over the gt"Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson

I don't see a reason to buy a GT500 at that price. Sure, you can make silly power, but a Boss will make good power and isn't going to wallow around corners like a clown on stilts.Originally posted by poopnut2 View PostWith cost difference and market adjustment, you could probably get a GT500 for close to what the new Boss is gonna cost.
