I'll admit I got big, but I'm below 200 @ 5'11" and working to lean out.

Yup...it is apparently inappropriate for a physician to counsel someone one their weight. It sickens me how entitled people are today. Blame it on the liberal movement. Political correctness at its finest.

I will counsel them on their weight and what it is doing to their bodies, but they get real offended so its easier to just see them and move on.

I've worked with a S.O. woman who was the sweetest person... with the worst knees. The weight caused them to flex and she had to take lots of pain meds for it. This resulted in the rest of the staff having to be her 'legs' and run errands for her or bring her things everyone else would normally get themselves (i.e., she got up for the bathroom and exit the building).

I've heard she was let go and I can't say I'm shocked. During the recession everyone had to make changes to maximize time/money. I can't fault the company for their decision (and I'm sure it wasn't based on her weight *wink wink*)

Fine line between taking care of folks and your bottom line.

And I have not read all the posts between the article and now.

Never said I wasn't fat, but I said not all fat people are lazy overeating bastards, I don't over eat, I've just always been a big dude, but yea I kicked it into another gear instead of just strength training and have lost a decent amount and plan to get to 220 and focus on toning and strength again. But my main point was I work circles around skinny fuckers at every job I've had, so im obese but certainly not a weak lazy ass.

i just dont see why people can let themselves get to 300lbs.. by most people standards im not fat, but after 5 years in the marine corps, i feel soft after almost a year out and it makes me sick. i guess some people dont mind being out of shape?
