No, the only time you'll need it is if there is something involving your vehicle. Why would you not have it in your vehicle?
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
      Pretty much nailed it.

Be careful and don't say $50K, otherwise 03bluballsgt will start humping your leg.

        But essentially, yes.

As for Roscoe's comment about liability, a lot of these folks understand that insurance is a scam, that is why they just post the bond.

I keep a digital copy in pdf form on my cell phone of all my vehicles.

I can guaranty that he has. I have had them do this to me quite often for inspections. I had one lady give me a 2 inch thick stack of paper saying here's my insurance I keep everything together so you know I've had insurance for over 10 years.

You're pretty much self insured at that point.

Yep, since 55k liability coverage is the minimum liability coverage. If you're paying on a car note, though, most financial institutions require you have full coverage, which is more.

still pay full coverage even though cars are paid off. Most expensive accident I have had in 9 years of driving was an overinflated 6k repair job from service king.

Insurance is still 2400/yr 3 cars.

It would take 20years for the 55k to make a savings with no wrecks. Not worth it unless you have an extra 55k and dont like monthly payments.
