    While they may seem aesthetically pleasing, I never understood the point of a tie. I mean, what guy was sitting around a few hundred years ago and just up and decided to droop a piece of clothe from his neck, and then it caught on??

    I look at it another way. I have a lot of ties and know how to tie them. BUT,...why NOT a clip on tie? I mean in this world of everyone trying to do everything faster, easier whose to say someone couldn't make a high quality clip on tie that would never be questioned?

    I do the simple, four-in-hand, or half windsor. I don't wear ties frequently enough, so it's whatever the motor-skills revert to when I'm doing it. Regardless, I can never take the ties off fast enough.
