Velcro FTW!!!Originally posted by Strychnine View PostDo you guys not untie your shoes? You just slip them off and pry them on every day?
How is a necktie any different? If a 3 yr old can be taught a knot for his shoes why can a grown man not learn a knot for a tie?

My dress and casual shoes are all slip-ons.Originally posted by Strychnine View PostDo you guys not untie your shoes? You just slip them off and pry them on every day?

I do tie and untie tennis shoes and hiking boots when I wear those though.
Back when I had to wear ties daily I would generally leave them tied. Then just loosen or tighten. But that was 10+ years ago. Now I wear a tie about 2 times a year at best. So I untie them after use.

I do own a pair of vans I tied about 3 years ago got them just like I like them and put some superglue on the knot so they never come undone.Originally posted by Strychnine View PostDo you guys not untie your shoes? You just slip them off and pry them on every day?

I just like getting fancied up. Simple slacks and jacket work, too.Originally posted by slow99 View PostThree piece looks silly for work IMO and I've never seen anyone at work wearing one.
No, just....no. I worked in hospitality for longer than I'd care to admit and have never seen a bellhop in anything other than slacks and a shirt, or jacket if it was cold out.Originally posted by Roscoe View PostYou are clearly not in the upscale service industry, sir...
Bellhop FTW...
Most of them wear something like this now-a-days:

Actually you're right.. i don't tie my 'daily' shoes. knot the string and cut the excess off, then slip on/off as needed. not really a pain, and i never have to stop and tie my shoe.Originally posted by Strychnine View PostDo you guys not untie your shoes? Me and you seem to have similar tie shortening conspiracy theories. Something tells me you may be right.Originally posted by Chili View PostI always preferred a double-windsor, until they started making ties so short (or my neck and belly got too big).
Now I usually have to use the half-windsor.
