man, it was a saga. There are a few that are out buying them up QUICK if they are under 2k on craigslist. By quick, I mean like it will have been posted for two hours and sold before I could get a response from the seller. I looked for about two weeks to find one that I could pick up and do some repairs to, and the sellers were asking stupid money on them, too. This one had a brand new battery (they have a vent tube that runs below the floorboard and are tiny) that are quite expensive and new wheels/tires, ran and drove, but has a few dents/interior issues and clear delam, and the back window is shot. I gave $2100 for it, and then the tires promptly separated. Having to buy a new set of tires kills the extra I gave for the new tires, but it is what it is.

I was going to post my second choice, but it's already sold. From the sellers description, it was in about the same shape, maybe marginally better, but I never drove out to look at it.

this one isnt as nice as the one I picked up, and you see the asking price:

Well, there isnt much wiggle room. When we were buiding the race car, I drove it around without the seat in it. Moving the seat all the way back, its just on the edge of comfortable. Its not THAT much smaller than my e36 was, interior wise.

1990. It shows a bit better in the pictures than it really is, but its presentable. I excuse a lot of minor dents, dings, and interior defects just because it is 24 years old.

I got it back to the shop, and half a can of freon got the a/c blowing cold. We bumped the timing up to 15 degrees and it really wakes them up. I didnt have any clue how fresh the gas was, so we didnt go any farther, but we might try to get 16-18 out of it.

There is probably 1,000 pounds of glass between the front windshield and the 4 windows. Hell, probably closer to 1,200 pounds. I would laugh at small arms fire up to a Dishka and the capsule design holds up well to IEDs and VBIEDs (to a degree). God only knows what that armored box in the back weighs. I am trying to get it removed since we don't really need it where I am at. Driving this bitch through traffic in downtown Kabul, Afghanistan was a fucking blast (no pun intended) back in the day. I have torn an entire side up on more than one or two Toyota Camary's, ran flat over a motorcycle, and dug the front lugs into a few cars. On the nice stretches the turbo loved the extra weight. The drawback to the trucks though was that the A/C sucked ass and in the hot summer months I would have people puking in their helmets in the back seat. The windows don't roll down as you can imagine. The top hatch is only supposed to be an emergency escape if the truck rolls on to its side but we could get some air in there that way.
