One second, let me consult the boss man. Say Jason, do you think I could have a beer at lunch? Why sure Jason, it might actually improve your productivity. I love having my own business.

When I had a job at international truck, first thing they told me was drinking and/or fighting at work would be grounds for immediate termination.

For me, no, but for my Ukrainian peers, they have a keg and apparently a ton of vodka in the office. I think they wait until 3 or 4 some days, but I've also heard that they start at 8am...

Drink at lunch, no. Not worth losing my job over a beer, after work sure.

I would check your company's policies. I've seen a senior manager take subordinates out for lunch, have a margarita and all of the partakers and manager terminated for it.

At the gym I worked out for a long time the manager actually encouraged her guys to drink. She said it took the edge off and their sales numbers were higher. They always had a pile of alcohol in the office closet.

Dont operate heavy equipment, and dont get blitzed on lunch.

Maybe I lived in Hawaii too long, but sometimes, a beer and a burger is the perfect summer lunch.

I drank 590 beers at the Saucer on my lunch hour at my last job. 2 or 3 at a time.

This. At my company it is accepted for salesmen to drink beer on Friday if they take a customer golfing, but the general rule is if you do it don't go back to the office; in other words it is a half day for you. However, it is forbidden for the rest of us, but then we are working with heavy machinery and electricity. Drinking or drugs is about the only thing around here that gets you instantly canned with no questions asked.

Depends where I'm at and where I'm going. If it's a slow day, the first beers at lunch may bring the work day to an end. If I'm out west going from site to site it's frowned upon... especially if the sites are oilfield sites or DPS offices.

I'll have a beer with lunch without second thought, actually had one today with my burger. Breath mints help. I don't ever have more than one unless I'm calling a half day and not going back to the office.
