I get it all the time at work. People who don't have the slightest clue about the parts in their car and are trying to tell me whats broken, how its broken and what I need to do to fix it.
"You need to replace my ignition switch because the car don't always start right away"
Yeah, lets do the fuel filter first. Oh look, that fixed it.
"You need to replace the turbo in my Powerstroke cause it don't make boost"
How about if I just plug in the boost cut solenoid so it closes?


Todays question was my favorite.
"Do you work on Ford Diesel trucks"
This question was asked while I was bent over a bright red 2006 F-250 with the 6.0 in it replacing the EGR valve and the guy was watching me for a couple minutes and staring at the engine.

Wasn't sure how to answer that question without tons of sarcasm in my voice.


Or the customer that said his brother had an x cop car that had a special fuel pump in it that dumped a bunch of fuel in it to give an extra 300 HP but you could only buy the pump if you were a cop.
