A guy at work was telling me all about his Honda CRX that did 400mph the other day. I asked him if he meant Horse Power and he insisted he meant mph. After I strait up called BS and started explaining basic aero he said "wow you really know cars" and STFU. :? I do wonder if these people hear what is coming out of there face sometimes.

Kid I grew up with was like that. He was a good guy but for some reason he would out talk himself without knowing it especially when it came to cars. I finally called him on it when we were in private and he was talking about drifting his other friends Jdm Silvia, I said hey you remember I know you right. I know you didn't do that. He quietly confided and apologized to me and said he was working to get better and often doesn't realize what he is saying. He would often just start rambling about money or cars, I wouldn't out him in public for spewing shit but it seemed to help when I was around because he would see my face and recognize a reality check coming in the mail later


I have caught up with him a few times and he has gotten much better about it, or realizes I will call him on his bull shit and sock him in the face if he's not man enough to admit his bullshit

I knew someone like this a few years ago, stopped hanging out with them. I hear they got better about it but who knows.

I've noticed a marked decline in the number of people like this I meet since smart phones have become so prevalent. It has really helped end or shorten the length of most arguments I see.

That and further pussification has them either not working or paying attention to cars.

I had a kid on my crew that told everyone that he and his wife owned three McDonald franchises. Now mind you he was only thirty years old, lived in a rental house in a shitty area and was dumb as a box of rocks. I wish I could have called him on it, but being in a supervisor role and him being in the union I would have gotten in trouble. It seemed like every week he had some new outrageous lie to tell that was even more unbelievable.
