But since asked, I'm an overtipper. Been there, done that. I've tipped as much as 100%, and as little as 5%. Really depends on the situation. 30-40% is a good average though.

Those are just typically my guidelines but it really depends on my mood.

20% or more depending on service, but if the server is being a bitch or a lazy fuck-up, nothing. I don't blame waitstaff for mistakes in the kitchen though, and I know that waitstaff do make mistakes, but shitty attitude or lazyness doesn't warrant a tip from me.

THIS! Its tough trying to make a living out of making people happy, which is essentially a servers job, to ensure that patrons enjoy their stay at whatever establishment they choose to enjoy their dinner or frosty adult beverage.

What do you guys normally tip? At the restaurant? At the bar? I am a bartender, and its astounding the amount of people who don't tip, like it never occurs to any of them. I tip no less than $1 per drink, more if service is fast and courteous. I also have a tendency to tip in cash and not with Credit Card, simply because its easier on the server as far as getting their money. I hate having to wait for my check to get my credit card tips.
