I dig it man. I probably would have bought something similar if I wasn't planning on doing a lot of surfing.Originally posted by 2000 vert View PostI believe in the keep it simple and basic theory of boats. I have a 2008 maxum 1800. Its 17' with a 3l i/o mercruiser. Its a ton of fun on the lake. The tower makes wakeboarding fun. It pulls a tube great. Only thing i cant do is surf. Its so simple there isnt hardly shit that can break thats not easy to fix. And it was fairly cheap so i dont feel bad only using it 4 times a year. Had it 3 years, so far just put gas in it, treat it nice, and keep battery charged and no problems. Onlly thing i wish it did have is a rear deck over the motor.
I actually ran across someone selling a pretty nice Tahoe for $5800 right now, we considered grabbing it and throwing $6200 on it, and using it on the weekends when we have kids with us.
Here are some crappy pics

You should definitely get one! DJ and I have a mutual friend that's been into Malibus since the early 2000's and I leaned on him pretty hard for information when I was shopping. The big thing for me was with a cheap wake shaper these can surf really well for an older boat, and they aren't terrible for just cruising either. I also had some restrictions on size because most of the storages around here aren't big enough for a 22+ foot boat.Originally posted by Mysticcobrakilla View PostShit! I bet. Hands down...the most well rounded boat ever built. If I had to do it all over again I'd buy that exact boat, minus the blue ;-)
We bought it a few months ago and haven't had a chance to ride behind it yet because most of the trips have been taking the kids out and teaching them the rules, or last minute lake runs when we have a sitter for a few hours.
