yeah, I had a work truck that was zero option at one point. I gave $75 for it at an auction, and drove it like 200 miles before putting a for sale sign on it.Originally posted by bcoop View PostYeah, I meant no a/c. The problem with that car, IMO, is that a stripped down base model is not something that I would classify as a collector car. Limited production due to being a special model is one thing, but this is not the same. If you buy this now you aren't going to want to drive it, because you spent so much money on it as it is "all original" with really low miles. At the same time, it will never appreciate significantly, or be a real "collectible", because all it is is a base model with no options.Originally posted by UserX View PostI'd pay $11k for it, but not 17. One day I'll find the right one!

You're absolutely right. I don't really care about collectibilty, I've just always liked these cars. It would be strictly a toy for me, a tool to get my son interested in cars. I actually like stripper models and have never seen a LX like this one.Originally posted by Chili View PostThe problem with that car, IMO, is that a stripped down base model is not something that I would classify as a collector car. Do you know what it was listed for then and what they offered? It just came to CA in January so it likely changed hands recently.Originally posted by smrr1 View Postthing has been for sale for a LONG TIME. i know someone who was in the process of trying to buy it but they just wouldn't come down enough. it is a rare care but that doesn't always equal expensive car.

I think 10-11k is fair, but that's purely opinion. I figure that is a good price for an "unmolested", stripped stock '90 notch.
This is something that would be a great start for a race car. Not a drag car necessarily, but keeping in mind all of the normal wear and tear stuff that would need fixing if it were a 250k mile car, I could see paying that if I wanted it purely as a toy..

You think? Most of the clean foxes I see out here the asking prices are higher than TX. One thing for sure, CA loves their verts. 4 out of 5 foxes for sale here it seems are convertibles.Originally posted by Chili View PostI will add that IMO, that car is worth much less in CA than it is in other areas. Most people out there would never pay anything near 5 digits for a fox mustang.

Purely based on my limited experience. I grew up there, and most of my family still live there (SoCal). Prior to the S197 there was a bit of a stigma that came along with a mustang. Or any domestic "sporty" car for that matter.Originally posted by UserX View PostYou think? Most of the clean foxes I see out here the asking prices are higher than TX.
