I totally don't get this. Our neighborhood is full of these damn things, and we are not on a golf course. Some houses have multiple. They just drive them to friends' houses, or let their kids tool around in them like it was a bike or something.

Golf cart questions
I've been kicking around the idea of getting a golf cart for a couple of years, but never really done any research. I don't play golf or live on a course so it doesn't have to be golf course friendly or anything. Ideally, I would like to get a 4 seater that already has a lift and maybe a couple of other goodies, but nothing crazy as I'm trying to do this on a somewhat tight budget. The problem is that I know little, if anything, about golf carts and what they are worth. I've been looking on Craigslist and the prices are all over the place and there seems to be a lot of re-sellers, not long time owners. I could be wrong, but my guess is that a lot of the tricked out carts on CL were golf course carts for 4-5 years and have a ton of hours on them, sold for cheap to these re-sellers, dressed up with paint, lift and/or wheels and tires and then sold on CL or on one of lots around town.
Please let me know if you know much about these things and/or have a hookup on them. Thanks.
