This literally made me crack up in our quarters. Great advice. Dont assume you need a 4yr degree either. Its just as good for vocational/tech careers too. Pursue something you love and could do forever... Like being a fireman!!Originally posted by talisman View PostUse the GI Bill and punch yourself in the dick for "Car Salesman" being your first thought on employment.
My benefits got me through medic school, the BAH is fucking awesome. Use it before you lose it. Chances are if you dont get enrolled soon after discharge you wont ever use that free money.

Tell me about it. The majority of my degree was under the GI bill which wasn't bad but then the Post 9/11? Holy shit. 1500 a month to go to schoolOriginally posted by Sgt Beavis View PostYup.. my GI Bill was Pre 9/11 and I still feel like an idiot for not getting the most out of it. Post 9/11 is a killer deal compared to what I had.I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

Sounds like a possible General discharge to me. All of you guys suggesting that he use his GI bill, he may not be able to. The military is chaptering people out right now for anything and everything, dude might have got caught up in that.Originally posted by Dlachance View PostLong story short, after honorably serving, I got out of the military last week for good.

That's about the same amount that my buddy was telling me he was pulling per month. $16xx if I remember right. And that is after they pick up the tab for school. Unless you have wife/kids, and in some cases even if you do, you would have to be a total dipshit not to take that deal and just be a full time student for a few years.Originally posted by Forever_frost View PostTell me about it. The Hazelwood act still applies if you are seperated or generally discharged under honorable conditions. Then again it depends on your circumstances and it only applies to Texans.Originally posted by Pokulski-Blatz View PostSounds like a possible General discharge to me. The post 9/11 isn't always better than chapter 30. In certain circumstances the chapter 30 is more beneficial.Originally posted by Z06killinsbf View PostUSE THE POST 9/11 GI BILL!!!!!
I'm using it now and the pay offs are great. Also, you can still use FAFSA as well since you paid for the GI BILL. Get a part time job and go to school full time (3-4 classes a regular semester). It's easy compared to military schedules.DE OPPRESSO LIBER
