My Dad lives in the boonies and has no trash pickup, he has to burn everything. He hates them because they're a pain in the ass to burn, unless you want to tear out all the individual sheets which is a pain in the ass. Then the ash/sheets blow all over the place.
Throw a full magazine or phone book in a fire and it doesn't burn for shit.
it does if you put it in a bit of gas and let it soak.

They don't distribute phone books here in CA, at least not in LA county. If you want one, you have to request it. That makes total sense to me. I got them all the time in TX.
No one uses pocket watches anymore, but they are still pass down as family heirlooms...etc.
True. But sticking something in a box or drawer doesn't have the same meaning as something you look at and use everyday. It's a constant reminder, at least to me.
I hope watches aren't a thing of the past... I love my Tag and have worn it everyday for almost 20 years. Still looks brand new. I had planned to hand it down to my son, but that might be like giving him a type writer or something in 30 years

One other thing I'm over... magazines and newspapers. I know some people love to actually turn a page, but when you think of the trees consumed and other resources hauling and delivering heavy stacks of paper, it hardly seems worth it.

Speaking of that. Fucking phonebooks need to DIE already. Jesus what a waste of paper.
