Pre-sactly. If work wants me there so bad on a weather day like what's forecasted, they can pay my deductible; otherwise, I'm getting the Swahilian flu.Originally posted by QIK46 View PostI kinda see the point. It's the morons that can't act right that end up causing accidents. Why pay a 500 deduct from some idiot that can't drive"Self-government won't work without self-discipline." - Paul Harvey

What the morons don't understand is that 99% of the 4x4's aren't lockers and even if they are, they don't grab worth a damn on ice. When shit got so bad last yeah, I got ran off the road by some jackass in an AWD charger, thinking he could take an icy curve at 40mph.Originally posted by Ruffdaddy View PostLol...its amazing how many people actually believe that

Yep...4x4 means very little. Everyone has 4 wheel braking and 2 wheel steering. Without studs...not much can help on ice.Originally posted by JC316 View PostWhat the morons don't understand is that 99% of the 4x4's aren't lockers and even if they are, they don't grab worth a damn on ice. Yea my heater at the shop warms up nice. I don't have anything going on though. Just finished a t-5 swap for a customer. I need to do a few odds and ends to the cobra R But that no rushOriginally posted by JC316 View PostI could do the same, but I will likely be in the garage, with 80,000btu of diesel hellfire blowing at me while I change the lifters, valve springs, and rocker arms on my C4 vette.

Last year I was coming back from shreveport when the shit hit the fan. Got just outside of tyler when I-20 stopped, luckily I was in my sisters 95 Grand Cherokee with full time AWD. Let me cruise down the shoulder to a gas station, then very carefully make my way down the back roads with fresh snow. That's where a 4x4 works great.Originally posted by Ruffdaddy View PostYep...4x4 means very little. Everyone has 4 wheel braking and 2 wheel steering. Without studs...not much can help on ice.

Even with that, it was easy to get a little sideways because of the open differentials. My 94 K2500 on the other hand has the G80 locking axle, I have yet to get that damned thing stuck in the mud or sideways in a low traction situation.

If it's sunny and warm they drive like old people fuck... Slow.
When it's below zero and The roads are covered in a sheet of ice. They drive like it's race night at Talledega.

Shit back when we had that last ice storm 08-09. I drove in a lowered mustang with bald tires And I made it just fine. Take off outta 2nd and 10-15 MPH and you're Good to go.

Got snowed on yesterday. Overnight co-worker called in and said he could not make it due to hurting his back shoveling snow. The same co-worker who was in a car crash about a month ago and told his supervisor he could not do any lifting whatsoever for several months.Originally posted by Craizie View PostI've already had people call in and tell me they can't make it to work on Monday.

We got ~20 inches here over the last 2 storms. Wish my boss didn't know I have a 4x4. Last nights ice storm hasn't helped things either. Last Tuesday when it was dumping, I was one of like 15 people who actually made it into work. Everyone else did the "omg sky falling need bread and milk!!!!1!!" Routine then went into hibernation.Originally posted by SS Junk View PostGot snowed on yesterday. Overnight co-worker called in and said he could not make it due to hurting his back shoveling snow.
