We got ~20 inches here over the last 2 storms. Wish my boss didn't know I have a 4x4. Last nights ice storm hasn't helped things either. Last Tuesday when it was dumping, I was one of like 15 people who actually made it into work. Everyone else did the "omg sky falling need bread and milk!!!!1!!" Routine then went into hibernation.

I heard a radio report that people were stopping under bridges putting on chains... when there was maybe an inch of unpacked snow in certain spots and others were down to the pavement. People around here are fucking idiots. I say more so than in DFW because snow storms here are commonplace every single winter. Listening to a traffic report the idiot said, "If you go out on the roads you are putting your life in your own hands." Let's instill fear and panic instead of encouraging caution....

Of course the day I fly into DFW there's supposed to be freezing rain. I don't miss that shit, one bit. I guess I'm gonna have to wear pants, real shoes and a jacket

My friends in the Detroit area are laughing at us right now. They had -20F (without wind chill) last week. It's the damn artic up there.

I think it's pretty fun. FWD and ice has yet to cause me any issues except for when I start acting silly with the e-brake. The bigger danger is the people inching along the roadway.

The bigger question is, take the new 4x4 or my ricer?

You been in a whiteout yet? Those are scary when the pop up snow storms with like 20 mph winds blow in real quick and catch you off guard. That's usually when the multiple car pile ups occur around here. Besides that my Jeep loves the snow. The after snow rain turning into slush is pretty hard to drive in, as well as a good snow then temps drop into negative territory over night and everything freezes come morning. Not fun with all of the steep hills and curvy rural roads around here

Looking at my computer model your looking at bad roads all the way into far w texas and into austin up to oklahoma and out east. No sense it getting stuck in some bs road trying to get somewhere. A few stuck semis and bad wrecks it will be a joke. I'm staying in I've learned my lesson over the years
