we won't all unite as one until the aliens come and try to take over our world.

    its just the truth

So corporations killed the deputy? Or was it unions?

    I'm so confused.

You have also had the opportunity to catch/ride a well timed wave in technological advance. Which is awesome.

there is an ever-elusive happy medium between slave wages and fairyland utopian rainbow stew for those who aren't as intelligent as people like you.

I can only speak to skilled trade unions, but I agree.

Since the subject of unions has been introduced, some input from the dearly departed Choo$$$$Choo$$$$ guys would have been extremely informative.

Yes, I feel I understand why they were created, its just harder to see their value today. I've read many horror stories about the steel wars, but when I hear about unions for say the postal service, it blows my mind. They receive many protections that are well above and beyond what any company should have to deal with.

I get the money side of it too. The organization of the workers side has helped people in sports make a ton of money, actors and their writers and satellite talent ( prop designers, casters, etc ) and many other professions get what they are entitled to. But a lot of these things are more vested if the individual gets them.

For example, I get called by recruiters here in Dallas often and I listen to them pitch their job, I turn them down once they get to salary and they ask what I'm looking for and I tell them what I make now and they get flabbergasted. I dont say this to brag, but because I want to help raise the value of other talent and I feel other talent that is of my level should be doing the same thing, not trying to beg to get a job at the base salary.

The problem I have with Unions is when I see jobs that shouldnt pay $80k a year that should be automated and replaced. I see them as more of a stifle on progression than a perpetuation of money.

As I am typing this out, I realize I shouldn't promote this as an Us vs Them mentality on either part as I want whats fair for employees to a maximum degree, I just feel Unions ask for too much beyond that.
