Prepare for the possibility of years of legal matters. My dad's motorcycle accident, where he was hit by a minivan that passed by him going the same direction, decided he needed to turn which put dad impacting just behind the drivers door, put him on the roof of it, carried though an intersection, thrown off the roof into the curb, found unconcious initially, and air lifted for head trauma, took 4 years to settle.

Looks like I'm getting a new truck. And Compensation for my pain and suffering. My neck hurts my back hurts the accident left me devastated and mentally distraught. Subrogation. I believe that's a way of recovering damages and expenses, but i'm not sure if you can receive anything punitive (i definitely don't know enough to state that for certain). I've gone to bat with insurance companies myself and always got what I wanted. But, my strategy assumes you have patience and another car. The two times i fought with the at fault insurance company I ended up settling for double the original offer. The first time was six months. My jeep was eight months. But, given soaps apparent injuries, i'd probably talk to an attorney.
