We were talking about smoking, right??Originally posted by jdgregory84 View PostNot trying to justify throwing cigarette butts out of the window, but you're making it sound like ONLY smokers trash our highways. Not people that let trash fly out of the back of their trucks, out of their windows, including fast food wrappers, platic bottles, cans. You're trying to single out a certain type of person when other people are doing something similar all the time.

I thought when you replied to my post about people being inconsiderate we were talking about people being inconsiderate. I was just making a point that people that smoke are no less considerate than other people.Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostWe were talking about smoking, right??
How long have we been living in Waterworld? People are so fat and unhealthy already I find it funny that they're raising hell about second hand smoke being bad for their health."Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson

Not as personal attack: I could care less what anyone in a smoking establishment (actually at all) thinks. GTFO and go somewhere where all the other stick up there asses people are.Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostWhat right do you have to come in where I'm already at and start smoking?
Your health is not my concern, it is yours, so choose where you go by your standards and not mine.

I think it's fairly inconsiderate to do so given the adverse health effects it can inflict on others around you. Sure, it's your choice to if it's allowed and the non-smoker can go somewhere else, but I do think it's fairly inconsiderate for and individual to determine that their need to satisfy their addiction is more important than another individual's desire to see a show without adverse health consequences. It kind of sucks to go see a show and then go home seeing spots and upchucking dinner due to a migraine, but hey, I understand that homeboy needs his fix and can't be bothered to step outside.Originally posted by jdgregory84 View PostHow is it inconsiderate to smoke where smoking is allowed? It's pretty inconsiderate of you to expect everybody to conform to your idea of living when you're around.
Not the government's choice, for sure, but I'd call it inconsiderate without hesitation.

If you're seeing spots and throwing up your dinner, you need to go see a doctor...not bitch about people smoking.Originally posted by Slowhand View PostI think it's fairly inconsiderate to do so given the adverse health effects it can inflict on others around you. I've been seeing doctors about it for years. Not a whole lot I can do, cigarette smoke is one of those things that really sets off my sinuses. It's an extreme case, for sure, but it's irrespectively unhealthy for anyone around smokers even if you want to disregard the unpleasantness. Which again, is putting their own personal state above someone else's. Legally their right, doesn't mean it isn't inconsiderate.Originally posted by jdgregory84 View PostIf you're seeing spots and throwing up your dinner, you need to go see a doctor...not bitch about people smoking.

You know, it's not right that I go into a bar and have to be around drinkers. I just want to have a coke and a smoke and relax, meanwhile I have to listen to dudes having a grab-assin' bro-fest next to me and talking about which bar whore they're gonna try and get an STD from that night. Totally inconsiderate of them to come into a bar and drink around a non-drinker. I have a right to not be subjected to that.

Clever dude, really. But the consumption of alcohol doesn't inherently require the degradation of the physical environment in which someone is drinking. Someone may not enjoy the social environment, but I think that's somewhat different from the condition of the physical environment.Originally posted by TENGRAM View PostYou know, it's not right that I go into a bar and have to be around drinkers. I'll also further my point in that I don't really give a fuck if you're in a bar; you're asking for all of the shit that accompanies a bar when you step foot in it. But when the primary activity going on in an establishment is somewhat different from that of a bar, I do think it's a different situation.
edit: I guess this makes my point completely irrelevant, because I assumed this thread was a direct offshoot of the general smoking ban thread. In that case, do whatever the fuck you want in a bar.Last edited by Slowhand; 03-11-2011, 01:25 AM.
