Thinking about just swapping in some stock V8 rear springs in the back and ditching my coilover setup to run the Strange 10ways. Seems that people have pretty good luck with the stock springs and they should clear my 28in tires. Only problem is I don't know where to find a set of rear springs in a pinch. I doubt anyone makes OEM springs so I figure I'll have to find someone who has a set collecting dust. Anyone got some collecting dust or know where they can be had CHEAP (or free)?

That's pretty much what I have heard of as well. These were on our road raceer, and they were using them to stiffen up the rear and "setup" the car. I put stiffer springs since the airbags don't hold air forever. I suppose you could set hieght and spring rate with them, but they kinda seem like a PIA to crawl under to air up or check.Originally posted by dville_gt View PostNever heard of using a pair of airbags. I always though people just used one in the right side to help the car stay level. Planning on putting in a roll bar soon either way, but maybe an airbag wouldn't be too bad for the interim."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford

Doesnt make sense but honestly I have never tried mixing them. You want the rear to sink quick, hence light 4 cyl spring and the front you want to rise quickly hence a V8 spring up front. I would think V8 springs on the rear will unload the rear too quick but as cheap as they are (ie, FREE) I would pick up a set of both and try out what works best.Originally posted by dville_gt View PostI've seen most people recommend 4 cylinder springs for the fronts and that they are too soft for the rear. The stock v8 rears are supposed to be the ticket.

I am going to stick with the coil overs up front for now, but I may end up snagging those from you one night at kdaleOriginally posted by 80coupe View Posti have some 4 cyl front's if you want them!
i assume the svo rears are the same as the 4 cylinders? if so i might end up grabbing them from you to try if these v8 springs don't do the trickOriginally posted by Ldecharmoy View PostI got a set of v8 springs and some rear svo springs free
hummm, don't ask me, i am still trying to figure out this hooking up deal. i am hoping i am going to see a huge improvement with these strange shocks versus the blown lakewoods. car has done a fluke 1.5 60' on the blown lakewoods, but for the most part it does 1.7's spinning a few feet out of the hole. this is on 28x11.50 et streets. car has felt VERY loose the 2 times i went to kdale last weekend. i hope this will help plant it a little.Originally posted by Lason View PostDoesnt make sense but honestly I have never tried mixing them.
