I tuned an sti with exhaust and cold air for e85. I would see 23 psi on the low side and 19ish on the big end with the factory waste gate at 95%. That is all the boost the factory 07 turbo system would make. inlet air temps never rose more then 10* over ambient on the stock turbo and motor wot in 6th gear. the cost of the conversion was about 400 at the time for the injectors and pump. 255hp & 55 pound injectors.

Won a championship in 07 with a carb on e85 before the class outlawed it the next year.

Got a 351 street car making a 1000 rear wheel on it.

I will stick to what i know. e85 is very effective for what i do, that's why i use the shit.

V6 mustang rental cars work VERY well for a track weekend, especially for beginners. With the LDW, the weekends are pretty cheap compared to wailing on your street car!

It ain't only for fun anymore. Wife and I now own the driving school and my shop is going to get off the ground here in the next two months. It's more of a "for profit" thing than it ever has been.

I'm going to start focusing on building customer cars later this year depending on work load. WAY too many things going on right now. My race car hasn't seen the track since november 2010...it's only been started 3 times! that needs to change. Funny thing I have seen specific to road racing shops here in TX is there are plenty who can send you a large bill and you still need to pray your car stays together either due to poor workmanship or just a bad plan to start with. We are bringing years of racing experience to the table to build STRONG reliable track cars so you can maximum your track time...and not the wrenching or garage time.

As the to do list gets shorter, I hope to be able to concentrate on the shop a little more....but REAL JOB travel is about to get in the way again.

I too suggest HPP for building your car up. I've dealt with Manny since they were working out of Jeremy's shop back in the day.

1. They do what they say they are going to do and have been around longer than all the others listed for a reason. Travis would be a close second at gearheads.
2. Manny's attention to details to make sure things are right have always been top notch.
3. they have always treated me well and done the things I could not do myself for a fair price.
4. One of the few shops in TX I would trust my car to...which means trust my LIFE to given it's a race only setup.

I would talk to Hpp. I've always delt with them and got top notch service. The previous owner of my car had them build the engine up and ive had Manny tune it for various changes since then. Car has always ran great and never had any hiccups.

How often do you test the fuel? It shouldn't be inconsistent. Now the blends are different for summer and winter. Everytime I tested it, it has been right on. The last test showed 88% Ethanol...

tested e85 once on the engine dyno...........not worth fucking with

with the power/ engine you are talking about, the suspension, and the transmission and not to mention the rear end....... yes that is about 15k

and did you just say booya? jesus.

I'm glad you met the op, but he never stated anywhere in here that he intends to drive the car that hard. so how the fuck am I supposed to know that? I only know what info is given.

I am in the middle if a modular build and I bought my heads, cams, and crank used and I'm still in the motor alone for over $3.5k with h/c/I and forged internals. then for a built trans clutch and fly is going to be 1.5k, and i did have all of, not most of the mm suspension and it was close to 8k worth. not to mention the odd and ends like gaskets, machine work, and fluids.

op- that's what I get for helping a newb. you might want to include your intentions for the car next time.
